Legend
This is part of my unfinished book. I finally got everything in order and started picking up a good pace.
There’s a good chance I’ll be able to finish this before the end of the year, so look forward to that.
That’s all I had to say, for now. Enjoy!
“That looks like a good spot to stop for a while, doesn’t it, May?” he said, pointing one of its claws toward a village.
“I wish it were.”
“Why isn’t it? We don’t have to stop in the village. There’s a lake over there, next to it.”
“That still would not do, dear.”
“Why?”
“For some years now, there has been a legend passed down in this place.”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
“So you have forgotten.”
“Did I?”
“They say that on one grim night, something that vaguely resembled their kind walked from beyond the trees, and with slow steps it got closer and closer.”
“Was it a monster?”
“It was to them.”
“So, did they flea?”
“Some did, yes. And some hid themselves in their homes, but they all shared the same feeling.”
“Fear?”
“It ran deeper than that.”
“Terror?”
“Even deeper.”
“So, how did it end?”
“The monster grew claws and fangs and chased down all their livestock until none drew breath.”
“I…”
“Ever since then, whenever a night like this comes around, not a soul steps outside.”
“I only wanted to play with them, May.”
“I know, dear, I know.”
Thanks for reading until the end.
